EUGENE, Ore. - St. Vincent de Paul's Lindholm Center is getting ready for their annual holiday food box giveaway.
Volunteers bagged and boxed apples and oranges on Monday to accompany a bundle of fixings that will go out to families in need.
The holiday food boxes contain a turkey, ham, or chicken along with all the fixings, and even dessert.
Lindholm Center manager Carmen Peer said this year they are handing out about 2,300 boxes.
The dinners will allow families who are facing financial difficulties, to prepare their own meals at home.
Staff says the boxes will be handed out at the Lindholm Center on Thursday only.
Various Catholic churches around Eugene and Springfield will also be giving out holiday food boxes Thursday through Saturday.
St.Vincent de Paul said they're still in need of frozen turkey of ham donations.
