Deputies in Linn County have investigated a threat found at the Mill City junior high school and have determined there is no risk to public safety.

According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, a student at Santiam Junior/Senior High School found two threatening notes in two school books. Both notes said, “I'm going to shoot up the school 3/9/18.”

The Mill City School District called 911 Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m. to report the threat.

Deputies said they determined that a 13-year-old girl wrote the notes.

Investigators said the girl, a student at the school, doesn’t have access to guns and there aren’t any at her home.

The sheriff’s office said the girl could face charges of disorderly conduct after investigators complete their investigation.
