Authorities say Brown had jumped into a Roseburg area river from a bridge back in March, and was taken by officers to a hospital for evaluation. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Brown left Roseburg on a bus for Portland on March 31, investigators from the sheriff's office said. His traveling companion reported that he got off the bus in Corvallis. She also told police that Brown might have been suffering from mental health issues.
Corvallis Police searched the area, but officials said they were unable to find Brown.
Brown was a registered sex offender on post-prison supervision, the Linn County Sheriff's Office said.
