Deputies: Bend woman was driving drunk at time of Highway 20 crash
BEND, Ore. – Deputies say a Bend woman was driving drunk when she failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle on Highway 20 in Deschutes County.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says 57-year-old Rosa Gastiaburu was driving a Ford F-150 on Ward Road around 9:50 p.m. Thursday when she failed to stop at a stop sign and drove through the intersection.
Deputies say she struck a 27-year-old woman who was driving a Volkswagen Passat.
Investigators say there were injuries in the crash, but they did not specify who was injured.
They determined Gastiaburu was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving.
