EUGENE, Ore. -- While some take the three-day weekend to relax and sleep in, the CrossFit community gathered in Alton Baker Park Monday morning for a quick, 45-minute workout.
"We brought all the CrossFit gyms together and just invited everyone for a free little workout on Labor Day to enjoy the holiday," said Zach Smith from the gym CrossFit Intensity.
Dozens showed up for the 10 a.m. workout that brought together CrossFit members from every age group.
"You got little babies? Bring anybody," said crossfit member Lisa Moe. "The community is like a family."
Smith said he thinks the workout will become an annual event that people can look forward to.
"Its so powerful to get everybody together, to get everybody to meet each other and learn who goes to other gyms throughout the year we can stay connected outside of the gym and make our community that much tighter," said Smith.
