Crossfire Ministries holds massive clothes donation
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A church in Springfield tried to donate 100,000 articles of clothing to those in need, acting as a Goodwill of sorts.
Earlier on Sunday, Crossfire Ministries gave away an assortment of clothing for free. A pastor at the church said that 1,000 families were helped, with most of the clothes coming as as surplus from other charity events.
Church officials say it feels good to make a difference in the community.
"It's great to build relationships with people," said Aaron Taylor, a Pastor at Crossfire. "Everyone goes through difficult times ... and they need a little help up, and that's what we are trying to do — give a help up."
Taylor says their ministry is always looking for more volunteers to help.
