Crash site for 17-year-old Eugene girl turns into memorial site on Chambers
EUGENE, Ore. - The site of a deadly crash over the weekend in Eugene is now a memorial for Khora Ellen Milessi, who passed away after a single-vehicle accident on Chambers Street between 2nd and 5th Avenue Saturday morning.
Friends brought flowers and lit candles in her honor on Monday morning.
According to the Eugene Police, the 17-year-old, who was a student at South Eugene High School, crashed into a tree on Chambers, near 2nd Avenue, early Saturday morning. Police think that speed may have played a role in the crash.
In addition to the memorial site, friends shared their memories of her on Facebook. One friend wrote in part:
You always knew how to make something negative into something positive, no matter what it is. That's what I loved about you. You were such a ray of sunshine, and nobody could get you down.
