Coast Guard rescues hiker trapped by tide atop cliffs at state park
SEASIDE, Ore. A helicopter rescued a hiker trapped by the incoming tide at an Oregon state park on Sunday.
Coast Guard Sector Columbia River in Warrenton received a report of a stranded hiker just before 4 p.m.
The hiker was trapped on the Ecola State Park cliffs by the incoming tide south of Seaside.
An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria launched to the scene and safely hoisted the stranded hiker.
The Coast Guard identified the hiker as Rochell Blair.
She was flown to Seaside Airport and transferred to fire rescue personnel. There were no reports of injuries.
