City prosecutor booked on DUII charge
EUGENE, Ore. - The city prosecutor faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to take a breath test.
Oregon State Police booked Daniel J. Barkovic, 60, into the Lane County Jail early Sunday morning. He was released due to jail overcrowding later that day.
The investigation started when Eugene Police stopped a Lexus SUV on Valley River Drive near Valley River Way around 2:33 a.m. Sunday morning.
Eugene Police asked state police to respond and conduct a DUII investigation. Barkovic's office prosecutes some DUII cases in the City of Eugene.
