DEE WRIGHT OBSERVATORY, Ore. - An air ambulance was en route to the scene of a crash between a car and motorcycle high atop the Cascades on Wednesday afternoon before an update from the scene indicated the severity of the injuries was more minor than originally believed.
State police said the crash happened on the historic McKenzie Highway 242 near the Dee Wright Observatory.
The cause of the crash and the identifies of the people involved is not yet known.
State police initially said a helicopter was en route to pick up the injured person.
But an updated report from the scene indicated the hurt person had minor injuries.
Police said the helicopter was called off.
