EUGENE, Ore. -- The 11th annual Sasquatch Brew Fest started off Eugene's Beer Week with hundreds of people tasting the best beers the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
While sampling some of the 68 craft beers on tap from 57 breweries, tasters were treated to live music.
John Burgess with the Northwest Legends Foundation said the Eugene Beer Week is a showcase of all the great brews that are found around the northwest.
"We have the best beer in the country. We've been recently named in four professional beer blogs and two beer magazines as best beer fest in the spring," said Burgess.
Proceeds from each ticket sold to the brew fest go to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation, which funds scholarships for aspiring brewers.
In it's third year, the Eugene Beer Week has dozens of featured events through May 11 held at taphouses, breweries and pubs around the city.
