YACHATS, Ore. - A 72-year-old man vacationing on the Oregon Coast was found dead next to his bicycle along Highway 101 on Thursday morning.
First responders found the man unconscious and not breathing at 10:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was wearing a helmet. A witness reportedly told state police the bike tipped over and the man fell as he bicycled on Hwy 101. State police said there are no apparent signs he was hit by a car.
