Bandon man, 55, dead after plunge into water off McCullough Bridge
NORTH BEND, Ore. - A 55-year-old Bandon man died in a fall from the McCullough Bridge Tuesday night, North Bend Police say.
Witnesses reported seeing the man step up and over the bridge railing around 7:30 p.m.
Police, firefighters and the Coast Guard responded to the scene.
Officers found footwear and a bag of belongings on the bridge.
Firefighters found the man in the water and pulled him out. Medics started life-saving efforts aboard a boat, then transferred the man to an ambulance. The man was declared dead at the hospital.
