SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A sign waver on Gateway Street called police after two men approached her in a car and made statements that she felt were threatening on Friday.
Springfield police initially responded to the incident as an attempted kidnapping.
"A woman contacted us and said some people had approached her and said some things that were alarming to her," Officer Andy Hargis said.
Springfield police contacted both Eugene Police and Oregon State Police, who assisted in finding the vehicle.
Police located a vehicle. Officers arrested two men on probable cause for disorderly conduct.
Police said nothing illegal was found in the vehicle after searching it.
Hargis said law enforcement was familiar with both of the men they took into custody.
