A wrong address turns into an amazing moment between strangers

The letter reads, "Congratulations...go have dinner on me." (SBG)

EUGENE, Ore. (KVAL) - Sometimes a wrong address can turn into a special moment between strangers.

Springfield residents Cassandra Warren and Jesse Jones are getting married in June. Two weeks ago, Warren was addressing wedding invitations. She thought she addressed an invitation to her aunt and uncle who live in Eugene, but accidentally addressed it to the wrong house.

A week later, the letter came back in the mail with an amazing response.

The mysterious sender mailed back $20 and a kind note congratulating the couple.

The note reads, "I wish I knew you - this is going to be a blast. Congratulations - go have dinner on me. I've been married for 40 years - it gets better with age."

"When I was saw it, 'I was like, this is awesome, it's so thoughtful of them,'" Warren said.

"I was just shocked they even went out of their way, used their own postage, to send it out," Jones said.

Warren says they sent the person a thank-you note, and are thinking about sending them a thank-you gift.

The couple used the money to take their friend to dinner who can't be at their wedding because he's being deployed.
