PORTLAND, Ore. – Eight people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon following a car crash on North Columbia Boulevard in Portland.

All of those injured in the crash are expected to survive.

Initial reports say a Ford van collided with a Hyundai Sonata just before 4:30 p.m. in the 9500 block of Columbia Boulevard, near Chimney Park. It appears the van was a worker transportation vehicle, police said.

The van caught fire after the crash; Portland Fire & Rescue managed to get the flames under control.

In total, eight people were involved in the crash. Four of them suffered traumatic injuries.

The road was shut down for a couple hours for cleanup.
