18-year-old charged with shooting in NE Portland neighborhood
PORTLAND, Ore. – An 18-year-old was arrested on gun charges early Sunday morning after police say he fired a pistol in a Northeast Portland neighborhood.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage in the shooting.
Officers were called out just after 5 a.m. on reports of gunfire near NE 93rd Avenue and Glisan Street.
A witness gave police a description of the suspect, and a possible location on where the shots were fired.
Officers started talking with 18-year-old Bennet P. Miller as a possible suspect in the shooting, and a short time later they found a gun in the bed of a nearby pickup truck.
Miller was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on discharging a firearm in the city. His arraignment is set for Monday.
