Tasty Tuesday: Year In Review
2016 brought lots of changes, including the revival of Tasty Tuesday! We decided to take a look back at some of Tasty Tuesday's greatest hits.
I don't discriminate on where I visit. I've visited gumbo shacks housed on the side of the road, like Bev's Gumbo Shack and their good Southern cookin'.
"It's not for the faint of heart, and if you have health problems, it's probably not the food for you, but it's real good food," Bev's Gumbo Shack co-owner George Beverly said.
I've discovered secret, cozy spots hidden right in downtown Eugene, like The Vintage.
"I still have people come in that have lived in Eugene all their lives that are just like, this place is here?" Vintage manager Sara Jesus said.
At one point, I even considered a career change, thanks to the deliciousness that is a Fri-Jo. But I didn't stray away from the upscale side of food, either.
"With all the fresh ingredients we use, we really just kind of let the ingredients stand out and speak for themselves," King Estate Winery Executive Chef Sean Winter said.
Tasty Tuesday spoils me. Lane County boasts spectacular spots that take food to a new and interesting level. And while there's variety to Tasty Tuesday, I try to make sure that all of my visits share a common bond.
A love for food.
Like Chelsy Navarro from Lani Moku Grill said, "It's about bringing people together and enjoying good food."
And man, have I enjoyed a lot of good food.
