Tasty Tuesday: Euphoria Chocolate Company

The moment you step into Euphoria Chocolate Company, the most heavenly scent hits you. It's chocolate, of course. White, milk, dark- in every form and flavor you could ask for. That's the beauty of Euphoria's West Eugene factory.

As you might expect, Valentine's Day is a busy time for chocolatiers. Owner Bonnie Glass explained that while Christmas is just as busy for them, Valentine's Day is a shorter shopping period- which means quicker production.

"It's this insane cycle. It's two weeks of crazy buying that we don't normally see," Glass said.

People want sweets for their sweetheart- and Glass says usually, they reach for their dark chocolate offerings.

"It's interesting. In these truffles, the classic truffles, anything that's dipped in milk is generally not popular. People like the dark chocolate," Glass said. "This is one of our best selling flavors. The double dark and the 70 percent."

Euphoria makes a host of different chocolate confections, but some of the most popular items are their truffles. Glass told me that customers especially love dark chocolate on dark chocolate truffles, and strawberry champagne truffles- only made in February.

For Valentine's Day, some people want to find love.

Well, I just want to find chocolate.
