On the Bright Side: 2017 Oregon State Fair begins
PORTLAND, Ore. — The 152nd Oregon State Fair combines the nostalgia of yesteryear - livestock, carnival rides and fair food - with the excitement of today!

This year's nightly finale is a pyrotechnic extravaganza, brought to you by Sacred Fire Dance Company. It's free with fair admission.
Former KVAL anchor Wesleigh Ogle gave eating fire a try Friday.
Also new this year is Cirque Ma'Ceo, a contemporary, high-energy acrobatic equestrian stunt show. Tickets are available on the Cirque Ma’Ceo site.
Our sister station in Portland, KATU, is sponsoring the X-Treme AirDogs of Dog Town this year. You'll see the Northwest K9 Dock Diving National Championships, demonstrations by Frisbee dogs, herding dogs, trick dogs, and hero K9’s that help law enforcement officers keep people safe. Dog Town also features exhibits relating to the health and wellness of our canine friends.
