Eugene Mission to expand Mothers and Children's center
EUGENE, Ore. - The Eugene Mission is growing, and they need your help.
The Mission is planning to expand their Mothers and Children's center, which will double their capacity. Instead of just 18, they'll be able to house 24 women and their children who don't have homes.
There will be more space and more places to sleep, but their current furniture is a little ragged. They're looking for people to donate couches and soft seating so that moms and their kids can be comfortable.
"We really want this space to be a warm and welcoming environment; an environment that promotes wellness," said Maria Cortez with the Eugene Mission.
The Mission is also deep cleaning the center, and building new shelving and storage unites. They hope to have the new center ready by the end of March.
If you'd like to donate your furniture, you can take it to the Eugene Mission or head to www.eugenemission.org.
