EUGENE, OR - A pair of Thurston baseball players signed letters of intent with Lane Community College on Thursday.
Kyle Watson and Shane Quarterley made it official with a signing at LCC. The two have competed together on the diamond since the fourth grade and will continue to be teammates next year at Lane.
That was one of the reasons the players chose LCC.
"It's kind of nice to stay in town and stay with buddies you know," said Watson. "As I'm here signing with Shane, it's a cool story. That was part of my decision."
"Kyle's my best friend," said Quarterley. "We've grown up playing baseball together since like five years old. We were joined at the hip. Glad to start this next season with my best friend. It's going to be awesome."
National Letter of Intent Signing Day is Wednesday, February 6th.
