Trucker seriously injured in crash

OAKRIDGE, Ore. - A double-trailer truck crashed off Highway 58 into two trees on Monday afternoon, seriously injuring the driver, Oregon State Police said.

The driver's name was not immediately available.

On February 18, 2013 at approximately 2:45 p.m. a truck pulling two semi-trailers driven by an adult male was eastbound on Highway 58 near milepost 33 when, for an unknown reason, it traveled off the south side of the highway into a steep ditch and collided into a couple trees.

The driver was extricated from the truck by Oakridge Fire Department personnel and transported by LifeFlight to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with serious injuries.

The roadway was partially blocked for a couple hours.
