Suspicious fire burns foreclosed house
A suspicious fire in a vacant house facing foreclosure is being investigated by firefighters and police.
Albany Firefighters responded to the blaze at 129 SE 6th on Nov. 3 at 11 p.m.
The fire was called in by Albany Fire Department personnel who were at the fire station on duty. Nineteen personnel responded with six vehicles.
Witnesses reported seeing the fire in an upstairs window. The house was vacant and there was about $45,000 loss to the building.
The building is in foreclosure and Deutsche Bank of California is the lien holder. Lebanon and Corvallis Fire Departments came to Albany to assist in responding to calls.
The fire is determined to be suspicious and Albany Police Department is working with Albany Fire Department investigating.
