Portland named one of the best affordable spring break spots
PORTLAND, Ore. - Looking for a charming yet affordable spot for spring break? Maybe you should stay right where you are.
The City of Roses was named by USA Today as one of the top 10 great places for affordable spring breaks. The article listed the city's notoriety for beer, coffee and bicycles as a few of the reasons it would make a great vacation hub.
"From microbreweries to coffeehouse bike tours, the country's epicenter of hip has plenty to keep a visitor busy," the article says.
We won't disagree with that.
The article says you can book a hotel and get a free Portland passport coupon book with parking, food and other discounts. Also, our affinity for great food trucks means you won't go broke at the bank.
Other spots that garnered a distinction? Hawaii (no surprise there), Myrtle Beach, S.C., Bermuda, Panama City Beach, Fla., Vermont, Orlando, Washington D.C. and St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
