Police: Man stabbed in knife fight with his heroin dealer
CORVALLIS, Ore. - A man suffered stab wounds to his chest and arms in a knife fight with his heroin dealer Sunday afternoon, police said.
After interviewing the victim and the residents of a NW Sycamore Avenue apartment, Corvallis Police arrested 20-year-old Johnathan Sole on charges of assault, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and heroin-related charges.
The victim told police he drove Sole to Portland to buy heroin on Saturday. When they returned to Corvallis, the victim, Sole and Sole's girlfriend used the drug and sat around watching movies until they fell asleep, according to an affidavit filed by a police detective.
The statements given to police by the three people invovled conflicted in some details, but police said the victim and Sole's girlfriend gave similar accounts on key points.
The victim and Sole got in an argument about whether Sole should give the victim more heroin. The victim grabbed a knife to defend himself, as did Sole, according to the affidavit. Both men stood in the living room holding knives, arguing about drugs.
During a struggle, the victim lost his knife. He turned to run for the door but told police he found himself being tackled to the floor and stabbed.
The victim told police he thinks Sole stopped stabbing him as the victim started bleeding, according to the affidavit. The victim fled to his family's home, where his parents called police. He was later taken first to a Corvallis hospital and then to a Portland hospital for survery to try and repair nerve damage.
