EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Emanuel Morgan had 20 points and Churchill advanced to its first state title game in 12 years with a 67-55 victory against Mountain View in the OSAA Class 5A state boys basketball tournament Friday at Matthew Knight Arena.
Keidren Johnson added 14 points, and David Shedrick, Malik Morgan and Andrew Smith scored 10 each for the Lancers (23-4), who won Class 4A titles in 2001 and 1995.
Mitch Modin scored 22 points to lead the Cougars (22-4), who couldn't overcome their 26 turnovers.
A 12-2 run at the start of the second quarter put the Lancers up 22-9 at the 5:19 mark and they went into halftime leading 34-24.
Churchill's lead was still 10 points, 41-31, with 3:26 to play in the third when a three-point play by Johnson sparked a 10-1 run to end the quarter and the Lancers went into the fourth up 51-33.
