KLCC ended Fall Radiothon at 6 p.m. on October 14 with a total of $283,290 -- only $12,000 short of its $295,000 goal. Over 3400 listeners contributed throughout the Fall campaign, renewing their memberships or becoming new members of KLCC.
Radiothon began with $152,780 in the bank, thanks to "Thon Busters" who contributed in the weeks before Radiothon. Every dollar that came in from Thon Busters reduced the on?air goal of Radiothon. The remaining $130,510 came from listeners who phoned in a pledge or contributed online during the 8 days of Radiothon.
KLCC member contributions help cover the cost of NPR news, nationally syndicated programs, locally programmed music, community information, live broadcasts of special events, and intelligent entertainment all year long. Two-thirds of KLCC's budget comes from listeners and local businesses.
