American Airlines to offer twice daily service from Eugene to LA

EUGENE, Ore. - American Airlines will offer service from the Eugene Airport to Los Angeles.

Twice daily non-stop service to LAX starts June 12.

The service, which marks a return to Eugene for the airline, brings the facility to capacity with 6 airlines, officials said.

Twice daily non-stop service to LAX starts June 12.

American Airlines previously served EUG from July 2, 1985 to Sept. 10, 1993, with flights to Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago via San Jose and Portland.

In recent years, Allegiant has expanded its offerings at the Eugene Airport. Frontier Airlines recently launched Eugene-to-Denver service.

An airport press release called Thursday's news "an announcement of potentially even more significance" than the Frontier route.

American also announced non-stop service between Redmond, Oregon, and LAX on Thursday.
